This Privacy Policy explains how BlockHeight Ventures LLC d/b/a OnChainImprint (hereinafter referred to as the "Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects Personal Data that we collect from you (hereinafter referred to as the "User") when you use our website and services at onchainimprint.com.
1. DEFINITIONS
- (a) "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes but is not limited to name, email address, payment information, and usage data.
- (b) "Services" means the blockchain inscription services offered by the Company through the Website at onchainimprint.com.
- (c) "User" means any individual who accesses or uses the Website or Services.
- (d) "Controller" means the Company, which determines the purposes and means of processing Personal Data collected through the Website.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
The Company collects the following categories of Personal Data:
- (a) Account Information: when you create an account, we collect your email address and encrypted password, or your name and email address if you sign in using Google OAuth.
- (b) Inscription Content: the text, milestone type, and other content you submit for inscription. Note that once inscribed on a blockchain network, this content is permanently recorded on the blockchain. Content encoded in binary format remains on-chain but is not human-readable without decoding.
- (c) Payment Information: we collect payment information necessary to process transactions. Credit card payments are processed by Stripe and we do not store your full credit card number. Bitcoin payments are processed through BTCPay Server. We retain transaction identifiers and amounts for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
- (d) Usage Data: we collect anonymized data about how you interact with our Website through Vercel Analytics. This data does not identify you personally and does not use cookies.
- (e) Communications: if you contact us by email, we retain records of that communication.
- (f) Beta Survey Responses: during our beta period, if you voluntarily complete our feedback survey, we retain your responses to improve our Services.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
The Company processes your Personal Data for the following purposes:
- (a) To create and manage your account.
- (b) To process payments and fulfill inscription orders.
- (c) To send transactional emails including order confirmations, review notifications, and inscription confirmations.
- (d) To send Life Chain reminder emails if you have opted into this feature.
- (e) To moderate inscription content for compliance with our Content Policy using automated systems.
- (f) To improve and maintain the Website and Services.
- (g) To comply with applicable legal obligations.
- (h) To communicate material changes to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.
The Company does not use your Personal Data for advertising purposes. The Company does not sell your Personal Data to third parties under any circumstances.
4. BLOCKCHAIN DATA AND PERMANENT RECORDS
The User acknowledges and understands that:
- (a) Content inscribed on blockchain networks including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana becomes part of a permanent, public, immutable record. This content cannot be deleted, altered, or removed by the Company or any other party.
- (b) If you choose to include personally identifiable information within your inscription content, that information will be permanently and publicly recorded on the blockchain network.
- (c) The Company cannot fulfill data deletion or erasure requests with respect to content that has been permanently inscribed on a blockchain network, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
- (d) The Company can remove inscription content from Company-hosted display pages such as milestone pages and decode pages upon valid legal request, but the underlying blockchain record will remain unaffected.
5. SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA
The Company shares Personal Data only in the following limited circumstances:
- (a) Service Providers: we share data with third-party service providers necessary to operate our Services including Stripe (payment processing), BTCPay Server (Bitcoin payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Neon (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting), and Anthropic (content moderation). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- (b) Legal Requirements: we may disclose Personal Data if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
- (c) Business Transfer: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of the Company's assets, Personal Data may be transferred as part of that transaction. Users will be notified of any such change in ownership or control.
The Company does not sell, rent, or share Personal Data with advertisers or marketing companies.
6. DATA RETENTION
The Company retains Personal Data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy or as required by applicable law.
- (a) Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account and for two years after account closure.
- (b) Payment records are retained for a minimum of seven years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
- (c) Inscription records are retained indefinitely as they are linked to permanent blockchain records.
- (d) Beta survey responses are retained until they are no longer needed for product improvement purposes.
When Personal Data is no longer required, the Company will securely delete or anonymize it.
7. DATA LOCATION
Personal Data collected through the Website is stored on servers located in the United States. By using the Website, Users located outside the United States consent to the transfer and processing of their Personal Data in the United States.
8. SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA
The Company uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the Personal Data it collects and processes. These measures include encrypted data transmission using TLS, secure database storage with encrypted passwords, and access controls limiting who can access Personal Data within the Company. 9. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION
In the event of a data breach affecting your Personal Data, the Company will notify affected Users by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, or as required by applicable law. Notification will include the nature of the breach, the data affected, and the steps the Company is taking to address it.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your Personal Data:
- (a) The right to access the Personal Data we hold about you.
- (b) The right to correct inaccurate Personal Data.
- (c) The right to request deletion of your Personal Data, subject to our legal obligations and the limitations described in Section 4 regarding blockchain inscriptions.
- (d) The right to object to or restrict processing of your Personal Data.
- (e) The right to data portability.

11. COOKIES
The Company uses only essential cookies necessary to operate the Website. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
- (a) Session cookies: used to keep you logged in. Expire when you close your browser or after 30 days of inactivity.
- (b) Beta access cookie: used during our beta period to verify access. Expires after 30 minutes.
- (c) Analytics: we use Vercel Analytics which does not use cookies and does not track individual users personally.
No cookie consent banner is required as we use only essential cookies.
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Website and Services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. The Company does not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected Personal Data from a minor, please contact us at hello@onchainimprint.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
13. THIRD PARTY LINKS
The Website may contain links to third party websites including block explorers such as mempool.space, etherscan.io, and solscan.io. The Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third party websites and encourages Users to review the privacy policies of any third party sites they visit.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
The Company keeps this Policy under regular review and may update it at any time. Material changes to this Policy will be communicated to Users by email or by prominent notice on the Website. Continued use of the Website after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. The effective date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last updated.
